Akarapu Sharath Chandrika Devi Memorial College for Women was started in the name of Andhra Balika Arts & Commerce Degree College during the year 1975-76 at Battala Bazar in the premises of Andhra Balika Junior College.

Later it was taken over by Andhra Balika Kalashala Samithi, Warangal (Regd.) in 1980 with the District Collector as its Ex-officio President, prominent and generouslocal educationists are its members.

The college was admitted to grant-in-aid for B.A.,B.Com(General) courses with Telugu medium during the year 1978-79 through G.O.Ms.No.152/Edn. dated 13-02-1979.
In october 1922 the college has been shifted to its own building, at Fort Road, Warangal nearer to Warangal Railway Station and Bus station.

The college was rename as A.S.M.College for Women. The college is located in a peaceful and pollution free area and it is accessible to the students of nearby villages.

The college has introduced B.Com.Computers, B.Sc.,Computers, B.Com.Tax Precodures and practises(Vocational course)during the year 1966-97 as self-financed courses. M.Com,P.G.course was started with an intake of 30 students during the year 2005-06.

Since the establishment of the college, it has been maintaing higher academic standards and discipline.

The college is obtaining higher results than the university average results at UG level. Many of our students have won gold medals, ranks and distinctions at the University level.

Academic Calendar
  1. Admissions are made as per the guidelines of the University. 
  2. Second and Final Year classes commence in the month of June. 
  3. First Year classes commence in the month of July. 
  4. Monthly tests are conducted regularly. 
  5. Half-Yearly examinations are conducted in the first week of November. 
  6. Pre- finals are conducted in the first week of February. 
  7. Sports & Cultural Day is celebrated in the third week of February. 
  8. Annual examinations are conducted as per the University Almanac.
    Rules of Admissions
    * The application form can be had from the college during the working hours on payment of Rs.30/- in cash.
    * The Registration fee of Rs.30/- shall be paid through "A" Challan at Kakatiya Grameena Bank, Warangal.
    * The duplicate challan should be submitted along with the application form.
    * Seperate application shall be submitted if the candidate desires to apply for more than one group even if the groups are in the same faculty.
    * Admissions will be strictly on the basis of merit and reservation system is followed for the SC, ST, and Ec candidates as per the Government rules.
    *  The following certificates should be submitted along with the application form
    1. Pass certificate cum Memorandum of marks (Intermediate or its equivalent)
    2. SSc Certificate(for Date of birth)
    3. Transfer Certificate
    4. Bonafide / Study Certificates of last 4 consecutive years.
    5. Caste and Income Certificates issued by the Mandal Revenue officer to be submitted by SC/ST/BC candidates.
    6. Conduct certificate from the Principal of the College where the candidate last studied.
    7. One passport size photograph.
